One piece zirconia or monolithic zirconia are usually called as metal free. They are solid and biocompatible material which may be opaque, or coloured. The opaque zirconia then needs to be teeth coloured with zirconia liquids. They are strong and have very high hardness and strength.
- The flexural strength can range from 650 mpa to 1500 mpa
- The strength and translucency are traded for each other, higher the strength less will be the translucency
Hence, at Dental Creations we partner with the local and international dentists and labs to give them the best for their patients. Zirconia with strength of 650 mpa and high translucency is usually used for anteriors.Higher strength can be used for full arch restorations, especially for bruxism patients.
The high biocompatibility of zirconia will not cause allergies in patients who have allergic reactions to PFM restorations. Quite a few dental patients are allergic to the alloys used for the fabrication of PFM crowns. If you come across a patient who faces these allergies, it is a sign that zirconia should be used when making restorations. In fact, zirconia possesses excellent biocompatibility, making the crowns and bridges prepared from zirconia extremely safe for clinical use inside the mouth. Zirconia fractures are difficult for satisfactory repairs and are also not suitable for initial restoration over implants. You may also choose other metal free restorations like PEEK with HIPC wherein fractures are rare and if happens repairs are easy and they are also suitable as initial and final restorations over implants.
At Dental Creations we take care and source our zirconia from certified and verified vendors only. The quality of the raw material with complete digital workflow enables us to manufacture accurate, affordable and quick zirconia crowns and bridges. These can be screw retained or cemented over the substructure.
To give better and more natural aesthetics staining and shading is done to the zirconia. This reduces the natural chalky whiteness of the zirconia.
